Student rejects impunity over July killings

Jatiya Chhatra Shakti stages a rally with symbolic coffins afoot of Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University on Friday demanding justice for July mass killings.

Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, the student wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP), held a coffin procession and solidarity rally in Dhaka on Friday, demanding justice for those killed during the July movement and calling for accountability over the July massacre.

The procession began after Friday prayers from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Dhaka and proceeded through Madhur Canteen, Mall Chattar and VC Square before concluding with a brief rally at the foot of the Raju Memorial Sculpture.

Addressing the rally, leaders of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti said no form of impunity over the July killings would be accepted and reiterated their demand for justice for those who lost their lives during the movement.

The programme was attended by the organisation’s Central President, Zahid Ahsan, along with other leaders and activists.
