Film ‘Moana’ may lose Tk 12 billion

The newly released live action film ‘Moana’ may also suffer a loss of at least 100 million dollars; which is about Tk 1,233 crore in Bangladeshi currency.

The live-action version of the popular 2016 animated film ‘Moana’ has been failing to meet expectations since its release.

The film grossed $43 million in North America in its opening weekend, and $95 million worldwide. However, ‘Moana’ cost about $250 million to make, and another $120 million to market.

It exceeded its budget by $370 million. To break even, the film will need to gross at least $600 million. But box office analysts don’t see any chance of that.
