Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched a digital waste management system, “Clean Care”, to make urban sanitation services more modern, transparent and technology-driven.
DSCC Administrator and valiant Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam inaugurated the app as the chief guest at a function held at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium on Tuesday.
Through the app, city residents will be able to directly submit complaints related to waste management and sanitation services.
They will also be able to track the progress of complaint resolution in real time, including details of the responsible official and their mobile phone number.
The platform will also allow citizens to provide feedback on services received after submitting complaints.
To access the service, users need to download the ‘Clean Care’ app from the Google Play Store and register using their mobile phone numbers.
Addressing the event, DSCC Administrator Md Abdus Salam said technology-based service delivery is essential for building a modern and liveable city.
He said many advanced cities across the world are using artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics-based systems to manage waste efficiently.
“Keeping this reality in mind, DSCC has introduced this digital waste management system to make urban sanitation activities more efficient, transparent and timely,” he said.
The administrator urged city residents to actively participate in implementing the theme “Clean City, Conscious Life”, saying the app would work as a digital bridge between citizens and the city corporation.
The programme was chaired by DSCC Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Mahbubur Rahman Talukder.
