3 killed in Khagrachhari gunfight

Police have reported that three people were killed in a gunfight between two factions of a regional organisation in Khagrachhari. Md. Ferdous Wahid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchhari Police Station, confirmed the matter on Monday afternoon.

The OC said that a gunfight broke out between two rival factions over dominance in Modhu Mangal Para of Chengi union, Panchhari upazila.

Three people died in the incident. Panic prevails in the area following the incident.

Three deaths are believed to have occurred at this stage, but the identities of the victims have not yet been established. Police have gone to the scene to recover the bodies.

Members of other law enforcement agencies are also heading toward the scene.
According to another source, five young men were traveling toward Panchhari in a “tomtom” (auto-rickshaw).

Along the way, armed miscreants who had been lying in wait launched a sudden attack on them. Three were shot dead in the attack.

It has been learned that after the attack, the remaining two were forcibly abducted by the miscreants.
However, no statement has yet been obtained from the regional organizations regarding this incident.
