As soon as women cross the age of 40, society’s crooked advice and advice flood their lives.
‘Have you become an old woman’, ‘Why are you so well-groomed at this age?’ – they have to face thousands of familiar questions every day.
However, this time, popular Tollywood actress Aparajita Aadhya has taken a hand in society.
In a long and emotional post on social media, she has put the society’s ageism on the table.
Pointing out the so-called taboo of society regarding aging, Aparajita asks, “When you turn forty, everyone says, ‘Oops! You’re getting old!’ I say, ‘Okay, brother, should I put my age in the fridge?’
With two white strands in my hair and two or four wrinkles on my face, I look like an old person in the eyes of society! Does my responsibility for children decrease as I get older?”
“Does mother’s worries end? Does the household account get settled? No, nothing decreases! Only people’s advice increases. Why so many red sarees?
Why so much decoration? Dancing at this age? Love songs at this age? Hey father, is age like an electricity bill, that the colour will be cut off on a certain day?”
Comparing the difficult struggles and family responsibilities of real life with growing older, the actress further wrote, “Does EMI decrease with age? Does worrying about family stop? Does the morning meal cook itself?
Or does the clothes iron itself? I am that person, only with a little more experience.
The smile is a little deeper. The cry is a little quieter and I love myself more than before. At 20 I was a bud, at 30 I became a river, at 40 I realised that I am actually an ocean.”
