



The technical glitch of US-Bangla Airlines flight bound for Chittagong triggered passengers’ evacuation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital ons Wednesday.
The aircraft’s engine suddenly failed while taxiing toward the runway in preparation for takeoff . Given the emergency situation, the aircraft’s door was broken and all 70 passengers on board were evacuated safely at 8:00 AM.
It has been learned that as news of the engine fault spread, confusion and a lack of coordination emerged among the aircraft’s crew. This ensued extreme panic among the passengers, with many rushing to disembark from the plane with their luggage.
Kamrul Islam, General Manager of Public Relations at US-Bangla Airlines, stated that when a fire warning signal appeared on the cockpit’s monitoring system, the pilot immediately halted the aircraft and notified Air Traffic Control.
The incident occurred while the flight was in the process of preparing for takeoff. He added that the pilot followed safety protocols and took appropriate action.
The flight had been scheduled to depart at 7:00 AM, but following the incident, it ultimately left Dhaka at around 8:00 AM.
