What Mosharraf Karim says about harassment rumours in Kolkata

The popularity of the country’s one of the popular actors, Mosharraf Karim, is no less in West Bengal, India.

Yet, he has reportedly faced an ‘unpleasant’ situation there! The news spread on social media on Tuesday morning. Then it also came up in the news media.

The news spread that the actor had gone to Kolkata with his wife and actress Robena Reza Jui.

On Monday, June 15, at around 10:00pm, some Awami League supporters in the New Market area of Kolkata shouted provocative slogans and insulted at him.

The matter even escalated into a scuffle! However, Mosharraf Karim said that this is not true.

The matter spread through a journalist’s Facebook post. Since then, the matter has been discussed in various ways on social media.

When Rashed Mamun Apu, General Secretary of the Actors’ Equity Bangladesh, was called to inquire about this, he could not provide any information.

Later, Mosharraf Karim told a media outlet that nothing happened as spread on social media.

Calling on people not to listen to rumours, Mosharraf Karim told media, “The way the matter has spread on social media; it is not really like that. Various things are spread on Facebook in a colourful way.

But the incident does not have the necessary elements to write a news story. In other words, nothing much happened.”

Regarding his visit to Kolkata, the actor said, “I like to travel. That’s why I came to Kolkata. I will return to Dhaka in three or four days.”

It is learned that star couple Mosharraf Karim and Jui are currently in Kolkata for a personal vacation, not for any professional engagements or shooting. They are scheduled to return to Dhaka within the next three to four days.
