Koel resigns from Rajya Sabha of India

West Bengal actress Koel Mallick has resigned from the Rajya Sabha of India.

She sent her resignation letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman via email on Thursday.

Koel remained away from politics. As a result, many were surprised to see her name on the list of candidates for Rajya Sabha elections in February.
