Tigers-Aussies 1st ODI today
Bangladesh Cricket team will face off Australia Cricket team in their first One Day International (ODI) today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur.
The game will start at 10:00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead the Tigers, while Captain of Australia Cricket team Josh Inglis will lead the Aussies.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mehidy Hasan Miraz said “We shall try to play the best cricket, which is possible for us.
I am very confident (about the team), everyone is in good form and the batters and bowlers have very good touch, everyone played very well in the DPL as well.
This is a big opportunity for us…..since Australia is playing a series with us after many years, and since we have a home field opportunity, it will be very good if we can perform well.”
The Tigers’ captain wants to win by performing his best from his place, “We are thinking as a team.
The team that has come, of course, we are very good team and very strong. We will try to play our role. We will try to perform from our place without worrying too much about them.”
While sharing his plans for the Australia series, Miraz answered in one word, “We have only one plan, we have to play good cricket, we have to win the match.”
Captain of Australia Cricket team Josh Inglis said, “I haven’t seen much of his bowling (Nahid Runa’s bowling). But from what I have seen, he seems to be a very good bowler, a very exciting prospect.
He is quite tall and bowls very hard. It is great to have such a combination. Playing him is going to be a very difficult task for us in this series.”
He said, “Nathan Ellis has been doing well for a long time, Ben Dwarswich too. They have experience of playing cricket at this level. They are very exciting and I am looking forward to seeing what they can do in this series.”
