Mohammedan face Rupganj today

The Dhaka Premier League is returning to the field after the Eid vacation.

Table topper Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face Legends of Rupganj at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur in their eighth match of Dhaka Premier League (DPL) cricket today.

Two pacers Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed have joined the black-and-white out-fit after the Bangladesh National Cricket team’s busy schedule.

Mohammedan’s Head Coach Mizanur Rahman Babul is confident about having these two stars in the team.

However, he also reminded the reporters that every match in the competitive league is like a final now.

Babul faced reporters after practice at ‘Home of Cricket’ on Monday. Keeping the match against Legends of Rupganj in mind, he said, “Everyone is little excited during the Eid vacation.

We tried to get everyone together before the match tomorrow. We practiced for about an hour and a half.

Masha Allah, everyone is fine. And not only Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed has also joined us. We have done our best to strengthen our team.

Because tomorrow’s match is very important for us. Legends of Rupganj are also very good team. They are also playing with their entire team. I think it will be a very good match tomorrow.”

Mohammedan are currently at the top of the points table with 6 wins in 7 matches. They gained 12 points playing seven matches.

Babul said, “Although we are two points ahead, it is not such a big gap. If one game is decided differently, everyone will be equal again.

It is a little difficult for the championship that we have to play every match well and there are four matches, we have to win every match if we want to become champions.”

According to him, “even if we form a star-studded team, the title is not guaranteed, Especially when cricket is being played in the season and it is being played on six grounds, each ground is different. Even with many stars, if any team victim of rain, two points can go away.
