Two platoons BGB deployed for security at historic Sholakia Eidgah

Two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed to ensure security and maintain law and order during the 199th Eid congregation at the historic Sholakia Eidgah ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

According to a BGB press release, alongside safeguarding the borders, the force has been performing duties with professionalism in maintaining internal law and order across the country, reports BSS.

As part of this continued effort, special security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the people attending one of the country’s largest Eid congregations.

The deployed BGB personnel will work in coordination with the district administration and other law enforcement agencies to create a security perimeter around the Eidgah ground and adjacent areas.

BGB expressed hope that, through the combined efforts of all security agencies, this year’s Eid congregation at Sholakia will be held in a peaceful, orderly, and secure environment.

The Eid-ul-Azha congregation at the historic Sholakia Eidgah is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am on May 28.
