Sony-Smart organizes first-ever movie marathon in Bangladesh
Sony-Smart organized Movie Marathon 2026 for the first time in Bangladesh ended amid colorful events.
The grand finale of the competition, organized at the Sony-Smart showroom in Uttara in the capital on Saturday was held in the presence of eight contestants who won in various rounds, judges and invited guests.
The Sony-Smart Movie Marathon 2026 is organized by Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, the official distributor of Japan’s world-renowned brand Sony in Bangladesh, better known nationwide as Sony-Smart.
A total of 2,435 contestants from different parts of the country applied for the Sony-Smart Movie Marathon competition.
After the screening, a total of 40 contestants got the opportunity to participate in the competition in five rounds.
Out of them, eight contestants who won in various rounds got the opportunity to participate in the grand finale.
Mahmudul Haque from Noakhali district won the Sony-Smart Movie Marathon competition, winning a 65-inch SONY 4K Google television from Sony’s latest Bravia 5 series.
The Runner-up place winner, Nouf Shaheen Kona, won a Sony Sound System Alt Field Seven, and the 2nd Runner-up place winner, Zahidul Islam, won a Sony Sound System Alt Field One.
Each participant in the grand finale received the Ultimate Badge and Noise Cancelling Sony Headphones WF-CH520, while each round of participants received a Sony-Smart Movie Marathon souvenir and gift voucher.
The award ceremony at the grand finale was attended by Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd.
General manager and head of sales Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, deputy general manager and head of marketing Azad Rahman, Sony International (Pvt.) Ltd.
Bangladesh branch product specialist Md Deloer Hossain and one of the most popular digital content creators, comedian, podcaster and actor Rakin Absar, along with Sony-Smart employees from various levels.
In their speeches at the event, the contestants and invited guests thanked the Sony-Smart authorities for organizing this exceptional and innovative event for the first time in Bangladesh and wished them well for the future.
