BD, Africa sets to explore new coop avenues
Bangladesh and South Africa have reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored new avenues of cooperation during the Sixth Round of Foreign Office Consultations held in Pretoria on Thursday.
The Bangladesh delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, while the South African side was headed by D Malcomson, Acting Deputy Director General of Asia and Middle East at South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
According to the press release issued in Dhaka, the consultations reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed potential areas for future collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
Officials from both sides exchanged views on strengthening diplomatic engagement and expanding cooperation in key sectors. The meeting also focused on identifying new opportunities to deepen ties between the two countries.
The consultations concluded with the adoption of a joint communiqué, reflecting the shared commitment of Bangladesh and South Africa to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in the coming years.
The Foreign Office Consultations are regarded as an important platform for advancing political, economic and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
