Swadhin named Bogura City administrator

A BNP leader, M R Islam Swadhin, has been appointed as the administrator of the newly established Bogura City Corporation, according to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Local Government on Monday.

Swadhin formally assumed his responsibilities at the ministry on Tuesday morning.

As per the notification, he will carry out the duties and powers of the mayor under Section 25A(1) of the Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, until an elected council is formed.
During his tenure, he will receive allowances and benefits in line with government regulations.

Swadhin, a resident of Baksibazar Road in the Maltinagar area of Bogura Sadar upazila, will oversee the city corporation’s administrative functions until further orders are issued.
