Mushfiq creates history
Mushfiqur Rahim has become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to play his 100th Test match and set another unique record.
The right-handed batter has completed 16,000 runs in all three formats of cricket.
No other Bangladeshi cricketer has the record of 16,000 runs.
Mushfiq already held the record for the highest run score for Bangladesh in all formats.
He had an opportunity to create another feat in the Sylhet Test. The wicketkeeper-batter didn’t miss the opportunity.
He scored 23 runs in the first innings, continued to play in the second innings. Mushfiq remained unbeaten on 90 runs until the tea break on the 3rd day. Mushfiqur has crossed 16,000 runs.
Despite retiring from the other two formats (ODI, T20I), Mushfiqur Rahim continues to play Test cricket.
The middle-order batter now in great form even in the twilight of his career. He got a triple-digit score in the second innings in Sylhet.
Mushfiq has scored the most centuries in Tests for Bangladesh. He has now scored 14 centuries.
Mominul has 13 centuries. Mushfiqur reached his century in 178 balls.
Now Mushfiq’s international run count is 16,011 and highest run scorers for Bangladesh.
He has 22 centuries and 85 fifties in international cricket. His average is around 35. Mushfiqur Rahim has played a total of 478 matches.
Tamim Iqbal is next in the list of run-scorers after Mushfiq. Tamim has scored 15,192 runs in 387 matches, plays at an average of 35.45, and has 25 centuries, 94 fifties.
Shakib Al Hasan has scored 14,730, Mahmudullah Riyad has scored 11,047 and Litton Das has scored 8,841 runs.
