Minister visits injured doctor

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain has visited injured physician Dr Nasir Uddin at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) following a recent attack on him while on duty.

During the visit, the minister inquired about Dr Nasir’s condition and spoke with his family members, assuring necessary medical support.

He condemned the attack, saying violence against doctors during duty is unacceptable, and warned that those responsible would face strict action.

The minister also instructed concerned physicians to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured doctor.

Dr Nasir, the duty doctor at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, was critically injured on May 15 after being attacked following the death of a patient with a heart condition and was later shifted to the ICU at DMCH.
