Eid security plan reviewed by DMP
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has held a coordination meeting to finalise security and traffic management preparations ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha celebrations in the capital.
The meeting was held on Sunday morning at the DMP Headquarters conference room, chaired by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, according to a press release.
Speaking at the meeting, the commissioner said maintaining law and order during Eid requires collective responsibility from all stakeholders, stressing that citizens must act responsibly to keep the city safe and functional.
He said drives against extortionists, muggers and drug traffickers are ongoing, while warning that overcrowding on river vessels during Eid travel will not be allowed.
The DMP chief also urged authorities to avoid road excavation work during the Eid period and called for coordinated efforts among all agencies to ensure smooth and safe travel for holidaymakers.
Representatives from various intelligence agencies, transport bodies, city corporations, fire service, BIWTA, Roads and Highways Department and other organisations attended the meeting, where the overall security plan was presented and discussed.
