3 officers of PBI N’ganj receive IGP Badges
Three officers of the Narayanganj Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) have received the prestigious IGP Badge during the Police Week 2026 in recognition of their outstanding contributions to solving clue-less murder, robbery, and abduction cases, as well as combating crime.
At the Police Week event held at the parade ground of Rajarbagh Police Lines, Inspector General of Police Ali Hossain Fakir personally awarded the badges to the selected officers.
This is the first time that three investigators from PBI Narayanganj have received the award simultaneously.
According to sources, under the leadership of PBI Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Md. Mostafa Kamal Rashed (BPM), a significant number of clue-less cases were solved in the district between March 2025 and February 2026.
The three officers who received the prestigious IGP Badge for their outstanding achievements are Sub-Inspector (SI) Pulak Sarkar, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Zahid Hossain Raihan, and Sub-Inspector (SI) Syed Delwar Hossain.
SI Pulak Sarkar successfully uncovered the mystery behind the widely discussed murder of physically challenged Sohail (41) in Sonargaon.
He arrested all the accused individuals involved and recovered the stolen auto-rickshaw.
SI Md. Zahid Hossain Raihan identified two headless bodies recovered in Araihazar and Bandar and uncovered the motives behind the murders.
He also arrested the main suspects in two sensational murder cases involving a labourer beaten to death during arbitration in Bandar and a housewife strangled to death in Fatullah.
SI Syed Delwar Hossain solved two separate clue-less murder cases in Rupganj.
He also recovered a locally made weapon used in one of the killings and played a key role in arresting the prime suspects in a 2022 murder case involving a young man.
The IGP Badge is one of the most prestigious honours in the Bangladesh Police, awarded annually in recognition of bravery, exemplary service, and extraordinary contributions.
The achievement of PBI Narayanganj has been widely praised across the district.
