Police okays travel budget allocations

The Finance Ministry has approved the full utilisation of allocated funds for several expenditure sectors of Bangladesh Police, including petrol, oil and lubricants, electricity, gas and fuel, and travel expenses, in the revised budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The decision was disclosed through an order issued by the Budget Branch-6 of the Finance Division on Tuesday.

Mosleh Uddin, Shamima Parveen elected President, Secretary of BPSA According to the order signed by Deputy Secretary Nahid Sultana, the approval was granted following a request from the Ministry of Home Affairs, with a relaxation of condition No. 4 of Finance Division’s circular No. 596 dated April 5, 2026.

The directive states that 100 percent utilisation of the allocated funds under the four expenditure sectors of Bangladesh Police has been approved for the current fiscal year.

However, the order clearly mentions that this approval cannot be used as a precedent in future cases.
Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had submitted a request to the Finance Division on May 3 seeking approval in this regard.
