Hot on the heels of Hamnet’s success, Paul Mescal and Jesse Buckley are back together for a new film.
This time, they are stepping out of the Shakespearean atmosphere of mourning and into the world of melody and magical reality. The film is called ‘Hold On to Your Angels’.
It is directed by Ben Zeitlin, who was previously nominated for an Oscar for film ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’.
‘Hold On to Your Angels’ is set in the desolate wilderness of southern Louisiana.
Paul Mescal plays a hellish criminal, and Jesse Buckley plays a guardian of lost souls.
As the swampland around them slowly begins to decay, they fall in love.
Director Ben Zeitlin says, “This is the most impossible love story I’ve ever seen.
I’ve been dreaming of making this movie for 17 years.” The shooting of ‘Hold On to Your Angels’ will begin in February next year.
The area of southern Louisiana where the shooting will take place is currently under threat due to environmental issues.
Director Ben Zeitlin said that the story of the culture, land and people that are being lost will emerge in movie ‘Hold On to Your Angels’.
The world is currently divided in many ways, politically, socially or environmentally.
There is a great lack of empathy between people now.
Through this movie, he wants to call on the people of the world to show kindness and compassion to each other.
