7 brokers arrested at N’ganj passport office

Seven brokers were arrested during an anti-broker drive at the Narayanganj regional passport office. The arrested individuals are Billal (31), Aslam (55), Saiful Islam (31), Md. Ziaur Rahman (48), Md. Yusuf Hossain (34), Md. Moniruzzaman (55), and Tanvir Mahtab (33). Later, a mobile court sentenced them to different jail terms.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Tarif Al Tawhid of the district administration on Thursday.

Regarding the operation, Executive Magistrate Md. Tarif Al Tawhid said that four of the arrested individuals were sentenced to 10 days of simple imprisonment, while the remaining three received 7-day sentences. Each of them was also fined Tk 200.

During the drive, Assistant Superintendent of Police of RAB-11 Al Masud Khan, along with members of RAB and district police was present.
