39 cop officers including SPs transferred
A major reshuffle has been carried out in the Bangladesh Police, with 39 officers transferred, including the appointment of new Police Superintendents (SPs) in 12 districts.
The transfers were announced on Tuesday (May 5) through two separate gazette notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the notifications, Panchagarh SP Rabiul Islam has been transferred to the River Police, while Mizanur Rahman, SP of APBN-2 in Muktagacha, Mymensingh, has been posted to Panchagarh.
Bandarban SP Abdur Rahman has been made Deputy Police Commissioner (DPC) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), and SB (Dhaka) SP Wahabul Islam Khandakar has been posted to Bandarban.
Joypurhat SP Mina Mahmuda has been transferred as DPC of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), while Shahnaz Begum, SP under Dhaka Range DIG, has been appointed SP of Joypurhat. Pabna SP Anwar Zahid has been transferred to the Special Branch (SB), and SB (Dhaka) SP Chufi Ullah has been made SP of Pabna.
Nilphamari SP Sheikh Zahidul Islam has been appointed DPC of DMP, while SP of Industrial Area Farhad Hossain Khan has been posted to Nilphamari. Narail SP Mohammad Al Mamun Shikdar has been transferred to the Tourist Police.
In other changes, DMP DPC Mallick Ahsan Uddin Sami has been made SP of Narail. Satkhira SP Arefin Jewel has been transferred to APBN as SP, while Rajshahi Sarda SP Abu Saleh Md. Ashraful Alam has been posted to Satkhira.
Chandpur SP Rabiul Hasan has been appointed DPC of DMP, while Jhalakathi SP Mizanur Rahman has been made SP of Chandpur. CID Special SP Pratyush Kumar Majumdar has been posted as SP of Jhalakathi.
Moulvibazar SP Mohammad Billal Hossain has been transferred to the River Police as SP, while RMP DPC Riazul Islam has been made SP of Moulvibazar. Chattogram SP Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan has been transferred to APBN as SP, and DMP DPC Masud Alam has been posted as SP of Chattogram.
Feni SP Shafiqul Islam has been appointed Assistant Inspector General (AIG) at Police Headquarters, while CMP DPC Mohammad Mahbub Alam Khan has been made SP of Feni.
In a separate notification, Sylhet Range DIG Mushfekur Rahman has been transferred to Police Headquarters as DIG. RMP Commissioner (DIG) Zillur Rahman has been posted as DIG of Sylhet Range, while SB (Dhaka) DIG Mohammad Faizul Kabir has been appointed Commissioner (DIG) of RMP.
Barishal Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam has been transferred to the Tourist Police as DIG, and Police Headquarters DIG Ashik Saeed has been made Police Commissioner (DIG) of Barishal.
DMP Additional Police Commissioner (DIG) S N Md. Nazrul Islam has been posted to CID as DIG, while CID (Dhaka) DIG Abul Bashar Talukdar has been transferred to DMP as Additional Commissioner (DIG). DMP Additional Police Commissioner (recently promoted to DIG) Sana Shaminur Rahman has been posted to CID as DIG, and CID DIG Mohammad Shamsul Haq has been transferred to DMP as Additional Police Commissioner (DIG).
Dr. Shahedul Akbar Khan, returning from the post of Deputy Secretary, has been appointed Special Police Superintendent at SB (Dhaka). APBN SP Dr. Eliza Sharmin (13 APBN) has been transferred to Police Headquarters as SP (on TR post).
DMP DPC Mohammad Maksuder Rahman and APBN SP Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam have both been appointed as Special Police Superintendents in SB. DMP DPC Mohammad Morshed Alam and Mohammad Ahaduzzaman Mia have been transferred to Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) as Deputy Police Commissioners.
Additionally, APBN Additional SP Sajedur Rahman, recently promoted to Supernumerary SP rank, has been posted to DMP as Additional Deputy Police Commissioner.
The notification states that the transfers, made in the public interest, take immediate effect.
