Boro paddy being submerged in Kishoreganj’s haor

The farmers of haor areas are facing severe difficulties due to continuous heavy rains and waterlogging, as one crop after another is being submerged.

Farmer Mojibur Rahman, a former chairman of Dhaki Union Parishad in Mithamoin upazila, said that he had cultivated 30 acres of land. So far, the paddy from 6 acres of his land has been completely destroyed.

In Shantipur village, farmer Joynal Abedin has 1.5 acres, Azman has 1 acre, Niaz Uddin has 1 acre, and 75 percent of Sufi Mia’s land has been completely destroyed.

Syed Fayyaz Hasan Babu, chairman of Ashtagram Sadar Union Parishad, said that his entire 8 acres of land have been submerged.
