Tigers-Kiwis 2nd T20I match abandoned
The second Twenty20 International (T20I) match between Bangladesh Cricket team and New Zealand Cricket team was abandoned due to heavy rain at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday. No ball was delivered and no shot was seen as the persistent rain washed out the match-venue. The coin session was not held due to heavy shower.
The second T20I match between the Tigers and the Kiwis was scheduled to held at
the match-venue of the port city of the country from 2:00pm. After finally inspecting the field, the Match Referee Andy Pycroft announced that the second T20I was abandoned at 4:18pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Meanwhile, the motivated Tigers led the T20I series 1-0. They defeated the Kiwis by six wickets in the first T20I at the same venue on April 27.
The third and last T20I will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on May 2. The game will start at 2:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
If Bangladesh will win that match, the home side will clinch the T20I series 2-0. If the third T20I match will wash out by rain, Bangladesh will win the T20I series 1-0. If New Zealand win the third T20I match, the Kiwis will level the series 1-1.
So, the Tigers are not under pressure and they are now in a festive mood.
