‘Research key to improve edu quality’
Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman has said that there is no alternative to research and innovation in improving the quality of higher education.
He said that, due to its geographical location, Chattogram is an ideal place for research on marine resources. Research activities in this field will make a significant contribution to developing Bangladesh’s blue economy.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inception seminar of a research sub-project held at the CVASU Auditorium on Tuesday.
The research sub-project titled “Advancing Climate-Smart Low-Trophic Extractive Mariculture: Integrating Research, Capacity Development, and Coastal Livelihood Resilience to Foster the Blue Economy of Bangladesh” is being implemented at CVASU under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project.
The seminar was chaired by Sub-Project Manager (SPM) Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman.
Special guests included CVASU Director (Research and Extension) Professor Dr. Abdul Ahad, Director (Planning and Development) Professor Md. A. Halim, and Director of the Department of Marine Fisheries, Chattogram, Md. Nazrul Islam.
