HC asks legality of ‘show-arrest’ in cases against Ivy

The High Court has issued a rule asking why the repeated “show-arrest” of former Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in multiple cases should not be declared unlawful.

The court also directed authorities not to harass or arrest Ivy in any new cases.

The order came from a High Court bench led by Justice Rajik Al Jalil after a preliminary hearing on a writ petition filed challenging the legality of the show-arrests.
