Southeast Bank launches Google Pay for its Visa card users
Southeast Bank PLC has introduced Google Pay for its Visa credit, debit and prepaid cardholders, enabling customers to make fast, secure and contactless payments using Android phones both at home and abroad.
Through the service, cardholders will be able to add their cards to Google Wallet and carry out transactions at millions of merchant locations worldwide.
The service removes the need to carry physical cards and is designed to offer greater convenience, flexibility and a more seamless payment experience across both POS machines and online platforms.
Google Pay uses advanced security features, including encryption and tokenization, ensuring that actual card details are not shared with merchants.
This provides an added layer of protection for every transaction, making digital payments safer and more reliable.
The initiative reflects Southeast Bank’s continued commitment to strengthening digital payment infrastructure, enhancing customer convenience and supporting Bangladesh’s transition towards a cashless economy.
To mark the launch, the bank has introduced a range of promotional offers for its cardholders, including a sign-up reward, 10 per cent cash back on the first Google Pay transaction, and a “Spend & Win” campaign aimed at encouraging regular use.
Google Pay was formally launched at Southeast Bank’s head office in Dhaka in the presence of Managing Director and CEO Md Khalid Mahmood Khan and Visa Country Manager Sabbir Ahmed Khan.
Additional Managing Directors Abidur Rahman Chowdhury and Md Mahbub Alam, along with other senior officials of both organizations, were also present at the event.
