IFIC Bank organises two-day ‘Cashless BD Initiative’

A two-day awareness and outreach programme on promoting digital transactions under the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative”, organized by Bangladesh Bank, was completed in Patuakhali, with IFIC Bank PLC serving as the lead bank.
As part of the programmer, the first day’s activities began on Sunday this week with a colourful rally in the morning, in which invited guests and officials from different banks took part across the city.
Following the rally, a special seminar was held at the auditorium of Patuakhali Zilla Shilpakala Academy. The seminar was chaired by Director of Payment Systems Department-1 at Bangladesh Bank head office A N M Moinul Kabir.
Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank head office Arif Hossain Khan attended the programme as chief guest.
Acting Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Barishal office MdAbul Bashar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), Patuakhali Kishore Roy, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Patuakhali Md Tamim Nur Islam, and Managing Director of IFIC Bank Syed Mansur Mustafa were present as special guests.
During the seminar, speakers discussed different aspects of digital transaction processes in detail and presented a collective action plan.
Guests were also given practical demonstrations of transaction processes using QR codes at different booths set up at the venue.
The second day of the programme, held on Monday, 20 April 2026, featured a day-long special seminar and outreach activities at Patuakhali Science and Technology University.
With the participation of teachers, students and staff of the university, the programme encouraged the adoption of cashless, technology-based transactions in daily life.
