Babita gets Who’s Who award

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury presented the certificate of honour to Babita.

This year, renowned actress Babita received the Who’s Who award.

The award was presented to her by the chief guest, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury, at a grand ceremony held at Grand Ballroom of the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in the capital on April 18, said a press release.

Since 1849, the international organisation Who’s Who has been publishing biographies and honouring outstanding personalities from around the world, including the United Kingdom.

This honouring ceremony has been organised every two years in Bangladesh since 2016.

The main goal of this event is to introduce and inspire people who have contributed to positive changes in society on the world stage.

Apart from Babita, 11 other people were honoured at the ceremony in various categories including agriculture, education, literature, entrepreneurship, journalism, and social service.

Regarding receiving the award, Babita said, “Every award is a joy. It feels so good. My father’s dream was that we brothers and sisters could be well-established.

I have tried to fulfill my parents’ dreams. Today, at this stage of life, receiving this award reminds me of my father a lot.

I have been honoured with many awards in my life. But this award is completely different because my father knew about who was who.

That’s why I feel so good to receive this award; I can’t express it in words. I dedicate this award to the young generation of Bangladesh.”
