Mamo’s regret over awards

Controversy surrounding national or top-tier awards in the country is nothing new. Over time, these discussions have increased, and social media has made them even more visible.

In this context, actress Zakia Bari Mamo has expressed her disappointment by sharing her own experience.

Recently, Mamo shared some photos of awards on social media and wrote, “There are many awards I did not receive in my life. Some were missed due to lobbying, and some I didn’t even go to collect.

Many times, my name was dropped at the national level, and sometimes I didn’t receive awards because I couldn’t perform at the programs.”

She further wrote, “Despite all these ‘nos,’ I still have many things. And I have the greatest award of all time-the love of the audience. I am grateful.”

In the comments, AfrozParvin wrote, “Overall, you already have the biggest award-that is the love of the audience, along with your own integrity.”

Md. Arfin Islam commented, “You have received the National Film Award. Your talent has brought you this far-how many artists are fortunate enough to achieve that?”

From Mamo’s statement, it is clear that although she regrets not receiving certain awards, she considers the love of the audience as her greatest recognition.
