BADC Chairman emphasises prompt delivery of agricultural services

Mohammad Azizul Islam, Chairman of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), regularly inspects field-level activities to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in BDC’s operations, uphold accountability, and make sure that the services provided by BDC reach farmers promptly.

Continuing this effort, on March 30, during his visit to the Kashimpur Horticulture Development Center, he inspected seed production fields for crops such as hybrid tomato, hybrid sweet pumpkin, and ridge gourd, as well as the existing germplasm center and research activities on various trial varieties of horticultural crops at the germplasm center.

During the visit, he stated that all necessary measures must be taken to achieve the annual targets set for the horticulture development center, and the newly developed horticultural crop varieties must be delivered to farmers’ doorsteps on time.

On March 31, he conducted a detailed inspection of the crop fields at Madhupur Seed Production Farm in Tangail and participated as the chief guest in the grow-out test evaluation program for wheat seeds. He noted that BDC’s seeds are highly respected by farmers nationwide.

Therefore, greater initiative and diligence are required to further improve the quality and excellence of all crop seeds produced through the organization.

There is no alternative to maintaining seed purity for higher crop production.
Later, during a training program organized by the Madhupur Training Institute, he emphasized that all activities must fully comply with financial rules and regulations and PPR-2025.
Any activity carried out in violation of these rules will hold the responsible officer accountable.
Simultaneously, he stressed the importance of executing duties responsibly to ensure that BDC delivers services to farmers in line with the policies, plans, and commitments of the current government.
He also instructed all concerned to prepare future work plans based on area-specific seed and fertilizer requirements or the demand collected through agricultural extension activities.
