Bengali duet Song launched at House of Commons, UK

The launching ceremony of the Bengali duet song “Prem Piyasha (Reloaded)” was held at the historic House of Commons in the United Kingdom. The song features legendary South Asian vocalist Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and singer Rubayyat Jahan.

The event was organised by British Member of Parliament Ruth Cadbury and internationally acclaimed composer and music director Raja Kaasheff.

During the ceremony, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his son Shahzaman Khan were honured in recognition of their contributions to music.

Among those present at the event were Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, his son Shahzaman Khan, popular Bengali singer and BCB director Asif Akbar, and Dhruba Music Station’s founder and artiste Dhruba Guha. Several British MPs, members of the House of Commons, and distinguished members of the Bangladeshi diaspora also attended.
The song has been released by one of Bangladesh’s leading audio-video production companies, Dhruba Music Station (DMS). The lyrics of “Prem Piyasha (Reloaded)” were written by National Film Award-winning lyricist Kabir Bakul. The composition and music arrangement were done by internationally renowned composer and music director Raja Kaasheff, while the video was directed by Saikat Reza.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expressed his gratitude to Raja Kaasheff and Rubayyat Jahan, saying that their dedication and sincerity towards music deeply impressed him. He also mentioned his special affection for Bengali music, adding that “Prem Piyasha (Reloaded)” is a reflection of that love. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the members of the British Parliament for honuring him and his son.

Asif Akbar said, “Through today’s event, Bengali music has taken another step forward on the global stage. I am proud to be part of such an international arrangement. This event has created a new milestone for Bengali music globally.”

Dhruba Guha, founder of Dhruba Music Station (DMS), said, “Since its set up, DMS has been working to present Bengali music on the global stage. ‘Prem Piyasha (Reloaded)’ is an important step in that journey. We aim to continue this regularity in future. This grand arrangement once again proves that Bengali music is equally appreciated beyond national boundaries. I sincerely thank the organisers for this initiative.”

DMS also announced that the video of the song has been released on their official YouTube channel. The song is now available on both local and international music platforms.
