Sophie Turner injured, ‘Tomb Raider’ series shooting postponed
The filming of the much-anticipated video game series ‘Tomb Raider’ has been temporarily halted due to an injury to actress Sophie Turner.
Several international media outlets have confirmed that production on the Prime Video series has been suspended.
However, production company Amazon MGM Studios said that the actress’s injury is not serious.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the company said, “Sophie Turner recently suffered a minor back injury.
As a precautionary measure, filming has been temporarily halted to allow her time to recover.
We look forward to resuming filming on the series as soon as possible.” However, it is not yet certain whether the injury occurred during filming.
Turner plays the legendary character Lara Croft in the live-action series based on the popular video game franchise.
According to British tabloid ‘The Sun’, Turner suffered the injury due to a pre-existing back problem.
As a result, it is feared that the shooting could be delayed by at least a month, and even up to six months depending on the situation. The series began shooting in January this year.
Although an official release date has not
yet been announced, it is expected to be released in 2027.
