DSCC to construct new graveyard
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has initiated plans to establish a new graveyard in the recently incorporated areas under its jurisdiction, covering Zones 6 to 10.
To oversee the evaluation and implementation process, the corporation has formed a high-level committee. The development was confirmed by DSCC sources on Thursday.
According to officials, DSCC Secretary Mohammad Nasim Ahmed approved the formation of the committee through an official departmental order.
Secretary Mohammad Nasim Ahmed said the committee has been tasked with identifying suitable locations for the new graveyard, preparing site sketches, collecting land ownership information, and providing comprehensive recommendations regarding land acquisition.
The committee will be chaired by the Chief Engineer of DSCC, with the Executive Engineer of Zone-5 serving as Member-Secretary. Other members include the Chief Urban Planner of DSCC, the Regional Executive Officers of Zones 6 to 10, and the Kanungo of the Property Department.
