Youth dies from electrocution

Md Sohag (22), a youth, died after getting electrocuted trying to save his uncle in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola.

The incident occurred on Tuesday in Lengutia area of 6 No. Ward under Charbhuta union of the upazila. Deceased Sohag was the son of Kanchon Mia of that area.

In this incident, the deceased Sohag’s uncle Md Mijan (28) was injured. He is currently undergoing treatment at Lalmohan upazila health complex. Deceased Sohag was the son of Md Mijan’s cousin sister.

It is learned that around 11 am on Tuesday, Md Mijan was cutting a branch of a rain tree next to his house. That branch fell on the nearby power line, causing the wire to snap. At that time, Mijan got electrocuted.

Md Sohag rushed to save him. At that time, he too got electrocuted.

Later, relatives rescued both of them and took them to Lalmohan upazila health complex. The on-duty doctor there declared Sohag dead.

Regarding the matter, Lalmohan thana OC Md Oliul Islam said police force has been sent to the scene after receiving the news.

Legal action in this incident is underway.
