3,032 DNCC cleaners get Eid bonus

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided cash assistance of Tk 5,000 each as an Eid bonus to 3,032 cleaning workers of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). The Prime Minister’s Eid gift was formally distributed among the workers on Tuesday.

The bonuses were handed over on behalf of the Prime Minister by DNCC Administrator Md. Shofiqul Islam Khan during a programme organised at the Ward No. 4 Community Centre in the capital’s Mirpur, reports media.

Speaking as the chief guest, the DNCC Administrator noted that this is the first time such a bonus has been provided specifically for cleaning workers.

He urged the staff to resume their duties with renewed vigour from tomorrow.
“I am your associate; we are all members of the same family.

We will work together to keep this city clean,” the Administrator stated. He further promised that if the workers perform their duties with greater sincerity and dedication, even higher bonuses would be provided during the next Eid.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Administrator mentioned that the Premier has given instructions to constantly monitor the welfare of the cleaning staff.

He assured the workers that the government remains sincere towards them and encouraged them to perform their responsibilities with equal sincerity.

The event was chaired by DNCC Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Asaduzzaman. Earlier, DNCC Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Mohammad Humayun Kabir delivered the welcome address.
