Britney arrested for drunk driving

US pop star Britney Spears was arrested in California on suspicion of driving under the influence.

She was detained by law enforcement on Wednesday night. She was later released a few hours later.

Spears was handcuffed and arrested by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, California. She was officially arrested at 3:00am local time on Thursday.

According to arrest records, she is currently free on bail. However, she will have to appear in court on May 4. The case will be heard in Ventura County Supreme Court.
