We will be able to fight against North Korea, Uzbekistan

Bangladesh lost 2-0 to China in AFC Women’s Asian Cup on Tuesday. But Peter Butler’s team fought hard against the nine-time champions Chaina. After the match, Captain Afeida Khandaker and Goalkeeper Mile left the field with the satisfaction of having fought despite losing. They went to the gallery on the field and shook hands with the expatriate spectators and took selfies.
Expressing gratitude to the expatriate audience in Sydney, Afaida said, ‘We came from Bangladesh with a goal to try to give our best in every match, in every position. Against Chaina we gave our best.’
‘Of course, this match will boost our confidence for the next match. Thank you very much to the Sydney audience. I hope they will support us like this. With their support, we will be able to give Bangladesh better results in the future,’ said Afeida.
However, Afeida Khandaker was disappointed with the second of the two goals conceded in the final five minutes of the first half. She does not want to make that mistake two matches against North Korea and Uzbekistan.
Afeida said, ‘I only regret one thing, the second goal. Beacuse the goal was scored from my side, if I could have saved it a little, I wouldn’t have regretted it.
The shot of the season was the best. Their goalkeeper is very tall, that’s an advantage for them. So we are playing well, everyone played well.’
‘This match will give us strength for the next matches. China was the champion last time, so there was a little fear. How will we play with them, how will we fight them? Since we were able to fight them.
Insha’Allah, we will be able to fight North Korea and Uzbekistan as well.’
