Govt appoints senior secy of home ministry

The government has appointed Monzur Morshed Chowdhury as the senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs on a one-year contractual basis.

The notification was issued on Wednesday by the Contracts and Foreign Appointment Division of the Ministry of Public Administration.

According to the notification, the appointment has been made under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018.

Monzur can assume the position on the condition that he relinquishes any other profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, or private institution or organisation.
The position of home secretary had been vacant since 16 February, when the government appointed Nasimul Gani as cabinet secretary.
