Swift action on mosquitoes, trolley crisis at airports ordered

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam ordered to maintain cleanliness at all airports in the country to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers and directed authorities to spray mosquito repellent at all airports and their surrounding areas immediately amid a rise in mosquito infestation.

She issued the directive on Tuesday while addressing a meeting at the ministry’s conference room to review the progress of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) implementation for January of the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to a press release issued by the ministry.

The minister also emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness at airports to ensure the convenience of passengers.

M Rashiduzzaman Millat, state minister for aviation, said at the meeting that the need to resolve the trolley crisis at Shahjalal International Airport was urgent to improve passenger services.

He also urged all concerned to work in a coordinated manner so that the passengers can travel freely without any harassment.

The minister and the state minister gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials to complete the ongoing development projects within the stipulated time.

Afroza also stressed the need to take immediate initiatives to procure 1,000 new trolleys.
