IIRF organises general meeting

A general meeting was held recently at Farhadbag Residence, Batali Hill, Lalkhan Bazar, Chattogram, presided over by Mr. SalahuddinKasem Khan, on the occasion of the formation of the Islamic International Research Foundation (IIRF).
The vision of the Foundation is to promote the pursuit of truth and knowledge through learning, critical thinking, and scientific research in accordance with the guidance of the Qur’an and Hadith. Its mission is to deepen one’s awareness of Islamic knowledge and principles, to identify Islamic solutions to contemporary social and economic challenges, and to foster the moral and spiritual development of the Muslim Ummah. At the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the approval of the Foundation’s Constitution, completion of its registration process, and future action plans.
An initial 22-member General Council was formed. The members are: Mr. SalahuddinKasem Khan, Trustee Secretary of A.K. Khan Foundation; Professor Dr. Mohammad GiasUddin Talukder, University of Chittagong; Professor Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, IIUC; Researcher Mufti MoslimHaiderMadani; distinguished organizer Dr. Moinul Islam Mahmud; Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahadat Hossain.
University of Chittagong; development worker Mohammad Imam Hossain Chowdhury; Canada-based expatriate and writer Mr. Wahidur Rahman; social worker and human rights activist Lion SetaraGaffar; writer Mr. Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury; Lion NazmulHaque Chowdhury, MJF, PDG; Professor Dr. Zubayer Mohammad EhsanulHaque, University of Dhaka; Professor Dr. Mohammad Fariduddin, University of Chittagong; Professor Abdullah Murad, University of Chittagong.
Human rights activist Advocate Abu Mohammad Zia Habib Ahsan; women entrepreneur Dr. MunalMahbub; Banker Md. Sirajul Islam; researcher Muhammad Abu Taleb; researcher UmmeSayemaTazkia; researcher Ayesha Siddika; researcher Md. Hedayetul Islam Chowdhury; and banker Md. Erfanul Karim. In addition, a 7-member Executive Council was formed for a three-year term. The members are: Mr. SalahuddinKasem Khan – Chairman; Professor Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder – Vice-Chairman; Professor Dr. Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan – Secretary General; Researcher Mufti MoslimHaiderMadani – Treasurer; Dr. Moinul Islam Mahmud – Executive Member; Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahadat Hossain.
Executive Member; Mohammad Imam Hossain Chowdhury – Executive Member. Distinguished Islamic thinker and researcher Professor Dr. MasudulAlam Chowdhury was nominated as adviser to the foundation.
