Special forces drill in Panchagarh ahead of polls

Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, patrols have been intensified in Panchagarh by members of the 66th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army.
On Saturday, members of the Panchagarh Army Camp, along with police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel, conducted special election-time drills in various areas of Panchagarh Sadar and Atwari upazilas.
The armed forces, alongside other law enforcement agencies, remain on high alert to prevent risks, violence, and sabotage at polling stations and other key locations, ensuring the safety of voters and the general public in the district. Major Adnan Morshed Al Haque, Commander of Panchagarh Army Camp, said that multiple layers of security have been established to safeguard polling stations and maintain overall district security.
He added that patrols by the army will continue alongside police and BGB units. The special drills are being conducted with heightened vigilance not only to ensure a free and fair election but also to maintain law and order in the district.
