BD Women’s Futsal team travel the city on open-top bus

The Bangladesh Women’s Futsal team returned to Dhaka on Thursday evening. Members of Bangladesh Football Federation received them with floral wreath. After reached the Airport, they went to Hatirjheel Amphitheatre in the capital on a open-top bus.
The BFF officials accorded a reception to the members of Bangladesh Women’s Futsal team there.
After winning the first SAFF Women’s Championship, the people of Dhaka were filled with excitement and enthusiasm around Sabina & Co in 2022.
That excitement was also seen after returning home in 2024 with the SAFF Women’ Football Championship. Open-top buses were also be available for Sabina Khatun & Co, who became champions in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship.
This year’s SAFF Futsal Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
This time’s success is different for Sabina Khatun, Krishna Rani Sarkar, Masura Parveen, Matsushima Sumaiya and Nilufar Yasmin Nila. After the SAFF victory in 2024, a group of senior footballers were dropped.
Of them, the five booters mentioned above.
The neglected footballers were given a chance in the Bangladesh Women’s Futsal team. Captain Sabina Khatun took the challenge before the start of the first South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Futsal Championship.
She promised to give everything and tried for something good. As a result of that effort, the red-greens were undefeated on their way to winning the Women’s Futsal Championship crown.
At the same time, the Men’s SAFF Futsal Championship was held in Bangkok. However, the Bangladesh Men’s Futsal team could not do well in the tournament.
Bangladesh Women’s Futsal team defeated India Women’s Futsal team 3-1 in their first match. However, they had to face a setback in the next match – Bangladesh drew 3-3 goals with Bhutan.
After this setback, there was no looking back. They started their journey towards the title by defeating Nepal 3-0. In the next match, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 6-3 goals.
The red-green team moved closer to the title by defeating Pakistan 9-1. In the last match, Bangladesh celebrated the title by defeating the Maldives 14-2.
Bangladesh also dominated the individual awards in the mission to win the title. Sabina Khatun scored the highest number of goals. Her number of goals in the tournament was 14. Krishna Rani Sarkar of Bangladesh was in second place. Her number of goals was half of Sabina Khatun’s, 7. Khushbu Soroj of India had the same number of goals as Krishna Rani Sarkar.
