E-learning prog in 12 schools launched

The Adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Ambassador (Retd) Supradip Chakma has stated that the Chief Adviser has opened a new horizon in spreading modern education and integrating the Chittagong Hill Tracts with the country’s mainstream.
Adviser Supradip Chakma made these remarks today during his speech at the formal inauguration ceremony of e-learning activities in 12 schools across the three hill districts. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus officially launched the program via an online platform from his Baily Road office, Jamuna.
Ambassador (Retd) Supradip Chakma further noted that by inaugurating this unprecedented e-learning initiative for the students of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Honorable Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has started a new chapter in expanding quality and modern education in the region. The Adviser commented that the implementation of this system is primarily the result of the Chief Adviser’s unique vision and thought process.
Adviser Supradip Chakma also informed that the e-learning activities were undertaken in the Chittagong Hill Tracts under the special directives of the Chief Adviser. He said that with the launch of e-learning in a total of 12 schools, including one primary and three secondary schools in each of the three districts, the people of the hilly region are now connecting with world-class education. He added that the goal is not limited to these 12 schools, as work is underway to bring 150 or more schools under the e-learning network.
The tender process for these will be completed within this month. Reflecting on the current government’s development philosophy, the Adviser said he wanted to make it clear that the government does not want to keep the Chittagong Hill Tracts lagging behind any other part of Bangladesh. He added that through the inauguration of these e-learning schools, an important promise made to the residents of the hills has been fulfilled.
As a result, the hilly region will become more prosperous in economic activities, including communication and tourism, through the new horizon of technology.
Finally, he called upon everyone to build a non-discriminatory and harmonious modern hilly region based on human dignity and technology.
Adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ambassador (Retd.) Supradip Chakma, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, and senior officials of the Chief Adviser’s Office were present with the Chief Adviser during the ceremony. The program was moderated by Secretary Mohammad Mizanur Rahman.
During the event, teachers and students from the 12 e-learning-enabled schools, who joined online from the three hill districts, exchanged views with the Chief Adviser.
