BNP’s Aminul vows for drug free Dhaka-16 area

Staff Reporter:

As the days pass, election campaigning by candidates is intensifying in full swing. From early morning, BNP candidates have taken to door-to-door campaigning in various neighborhoods of the capital.

Aminul Haque, the BNP candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol, carried out campaign activities in Pallabi area of Mirpur on Sunday.

He said that if elected, his main agenda would be the eradication of drugs, extortion, and juvenile gangs. At the same time, he condemned the authorities for not granting parole to a Chhatra League leader even after the death of his wife and child in Jashore.

Aminul said that if elected, he would work to build a humane Bangladesh. “We do not want to inflict the kind of oppression that the Awami League has carried out,” he said.

During the campaign, he distributed leaflets among low-income residents of Ward No. 5 and sought votes in favor of the Sheaf of Paddy. He pledged that if elected, he would remove the fear of eviction, ensure permanent housing, introduce a modern drainage system to resolve waterlogging, and guarantee free education and healthcare. Reiterating a policy of “zero tolerance” against drugs and juvenile gangs, Aminul Haque expressed his determination to build a peaceful Pallabi–Rupnagar.
