Walton, Shikho launch learning focused tablet ‘EduTab’

Business Desk :

Walton tablet brand Walpad and Shikho, the country’s education-technology platform, have jointly developed a new learning-focused tablet, ‘EduTab’, aimed at making learning smarter and more accessible for Bangladeshi students.

The personalised tablet has been designed to support students by integrating modern digital learning tools with access to experienced teachers.

Developed specifically for use by students and teachers at home, the device is now available at an affordable price, according to a press release, reports media.

Manufactured by Walton, EduTab functions like a standard Android tablet with full access to the app store.

It is directly connected to the Shikho platform and has been developed based on the real needs of Bangladeshi students and teachers.

It comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, allowing users to store essential applications and educational content.

The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh lithium-ion battery, ensuring long-term power backup.

EduTab supports 4G networks and fast Wi-Fi for smooth internet browsing, and includes a USB 2.0 Type-C port for connectivity. For online classes, it is fitted with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Walton Computer Products Chief Business Officer, Touhidur Rahman Rad, said EduTab has been designed to support students of all ages, including children.

‘Live classes, guided practice, animated lessons, and AI-powered smart support have been integrated into a single device.

EduTab has been developed after years of observing the academic pressures, usage patterns, and constraints faced by students under Bangladesh’s national curriculum,’ he said.

Digital learning becomes more effective when software, hardware, and teaching practices are combined in a single ecosystem, he added, noting that such devices are already widely used in many countries.
