Seminar on stipend prog for disabled students

A seminar titled “The significance of the education stipend program of the Department of Social Services in mainstreaming disabled children” was held in Chatmohar, Pabna. The seminar was organized by the Upazila Social Services Office on Wednesday at 11 am in the Upazila Parishad meeting room.
The seminar was held under the chairmanship of Md. Rashedul Kabir, Deputy Director of the Pabna District Social Services Office, and Kazi Quader Mohammad Fazle Rabbi, Assistant Director of the District Social Services Office, was present as a discussant. The seminar, moderated by Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Sohel Rana.
was addressed by Upazila Education Officer Md. Abdul Gani, Acting Secondary Education Officer Md. Shafiul Islam, Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Nayan Kumar Sarkar, Teacher Khurshid Alam Milon, Lecturer Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Accounts Officer Sajjad Hossain, Head Teacher Shahida Sultana Lipi, Chatmohar Press Club President Helalur Rahman Jewel, General Secretary S. M. Masud Rana, Journalist Shuvashish Bhattacharya Tushar, Anjana Khatun, and others.
It was said in the seminar that 106 disabled students in Chatmohar Upazila receive allowance. Due to lack of awareness, many are unable to take this allowance. There is a fear of institutional complications among them due to the reluctance of students and guardians. Again, many come for disability allowance by claiming educational stipend. At the seminar, speakers emphasized on raising awareness about educational stipends for the disabled.
