Bank Asia agent banking reaches 75 lakh customers

Bank Asia Agent Banking marked its 12th founding anniversary by celebrating a milestone-bringing 7.5 million customers into the formal financial system and transforming access to banking services across Bangladesh.
As the pioneer of agent banking in the country, Bank Asia commemorated the occasion through a series of engaging programs, including a cake-cutting ceremony, the launch of innovative services and campaign, and the recognition of top-performing agents and employees who have played a vital role in this journey of inclusion.
Chairman of the bank Romo Rouf Chowdhury, along with members of the board of directors and the management team, formally inaugurated the “Cash by Code” service and the “Remittance Surokkha” financial literacy campaign at a ceremony held on January 17 at Rangs Tower, Purana Paltan, Dhaka.
On the occasion, outstanding agents and employees were honored for their contributions in expanding banking services to millions of customers.
The event was graced by vice chairman Zakia Rouf Chowdhury, director Romana Rouf Chowdhury, independent director Md Ataur Rahman; managing director Sohail RK Hussain; additional managing director Md Sabbir Hossain; deputy managing directors Ziaul Hasan (agent banking & chief credit officer), Arequl Arefeen, and Syed Zulkar Nayen, along with other senior officials of the bank.
Agents from different districts across the country joined the celebration.
To mark the milestone, Bank Asia organized an agent meet, Pitha Utsab, and a vibrant cultural program at the Corporate Office.
