Cold spell prevailing in Bagerhat

People of Bagerhat, one of the coastal districts of the country and its all the 9 Upazilas have been suffering from the severe cold spell being deprived of the sunlight for the last 5 days. As a result, poor people and the day labourers are suffering a lot of inconveniences. On the other hand, a good number of people, mainly children and old aged people are suffering from the cold related diseases like fever, cough, diarrhea, loose-motion, pneumonia etc. Those who are affected are mainly children, according to the reports received here from the different places of the district.
It is learnt from a source of Bagerhat district Sadar Hospital that almost every day children, attacked with the cold related diseases (fever, cough, diarrhea, pneumonia etc.) are being admitted to the district Hospital from the remote areas. The physicians are requesting the guardians of children beware of the matter considering the weather-change. A good number of children who were affected with the cold related diseases were admitted to the Sadar Hospital during the last few days. It is also learnt from the district Sadar Hospital source that a few children who were attacked with pneumonia are now under treatment. A number of children already returned home after taking treatment from the Hospital.
It is learnt from a source of the Sadar, this year just with beginning of the cold spell the cold related patients, mainly children and old aged people are increasing. The source added, Sadar Hospital is ready to cope with the situation and physicians are advising all classes of people beware of the cold spell and save themselves from the cold related diseases.
