Police-workers clash leaves 50 injured

Fifty persons including 6 police members were injured in Patiya upazila centring a clash between the transports workers and police members on Saturday evening .
The clash broke out when the biennial election of Patiya Paribahan Sramik Kaylan Samabay Samity was continuing in Patiya sadar . In the clash one person reportedly injured with bullet. Police rounded up 8 persons in connection from the spot.
District police sources said additional police forces have been deployed in the area. The incident occurred at Patiya Pourasaba sadar based paribahan samity premises. The detained persons identified as Abdul Mannan, Md. Faruk, Abdul Aziz, Jahangir Alam, Abdul Hanif, Belaluddin, Babul and Liton.
